We Can Do Hard Things takes us on a multi-year adventure into the underwater world of Marine Biologist Neo Mei Lin and her team as they
attempt to culture cowries, clams and corals.

In their offshore research facility located half an hour’s boat ride away from mainland Singapore, Marine Biologist Neo Mei Lin and her team from Singapore’s National Marine Lab fill rows of saltwater tanks with giant clams, cowries and all manner of hard corals. The team has just begun the process of fragmenting corals collected from the seabed and attaching them onto Lego bricks for regrowth. But these bricks are just a small piece of a bigger and more complicated puzzle.

We Can Do Hard Things is a show about falling down and falling down again. But always getting up. It’s about how small triumphs can add up to bring wins. And why some people choose the harder route in life.

This two-part documentary dives into the underwater world of Dr Neo Mei Lin and her fellow marine scientists working on a 3-year mariculture project. Between their bold ambitions and the secret lives of the animals they follow, we explore what it takes to chase your dreams and where these dreams can lead us to.
